Christmas Devotion- Day 7

While Fields and Floods, Rocks, Hills & Plains

Repeat The Sounding Joy

All of nature is speaking to us of God’s goodness! Romans 1:20 states, “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” With its constant stimulation and entertainment, our current culture has often caused us to miss what is right in front of us. The smallest things in nature show us that their existence and the perfect design are impossible without a Creator—and that this Creator is not bleak and indifferent. But cares enough about mankind to create a world (although now fallen) that is full of beauty and endless creative varieties. I have found that being still and simply observing nature, is one of the most powerful ways to prepare my heart to be able to hear God’s still small voice. Take time to reflect on the goodness and obviousness of God that is all around you. Take time to teach your children that the intricate design they observe in nature all around them is constantly speaking of God’s love for them!
