I have had the tendency lately to get overwhelmed with all that's before me. I started focusing on how I was supposed to do all the tasks ahead, and the weight of it seemed unmanageable. Have you ever been there? Here was my problem; my thoughts were always on "I." The truth is I was not looking to Jesus and coming to him for the wisdom and strength for each task and responsibility. Although I would have moments of laying it at His feet, I would quickly pick it back up again. The truth is that the things I am carrying are things He has asked me to do and therefore has given me the grace and strength to do, but I can only draw on that source when I know it's not coming from me but from Him.
The Lord showed me I was Martha, worried and troubled about many things, and that my position was to be Mary and to sit at His feet. He is always faithful when we run to Him to refresh our souls. When we choose to sit at His feet, we are given strength, wisdom, peace, and so much more. I hope this encourages you if you have felt heavy lately. Below are a few scriptures to feed on and encourage you.
