One of my favorite things about being at home so much lately has been the time spent enjoying our yard and all of the new things that are coming up in Springtime. This is our first Spring in our new home and it has been so fun seeing all of the new growth come up! We go on walks and see what is new each day and what has grown and changed. It’s such a great time to reflect on God’s beautiful creation and remember the way that He created the earth to be – GOOD. It helps us to slow down and remember the goodness of God. There are so many bible verses about nature and creation. Take some time to read over the list of our favorites as you enjoy His creation this season!
What Does the Bible Say About Nature?
There is something truly calming about being in the presence of God’s creation and appreciating all that he made for us! It is hard to look at a blooming new flower, growing fruit on a tree, or birds in their nest and not see the hand of our Creator. It is so comforting to recall all of the ways that the Lord has provided for us with His creation and how grand and amazing He is. From the smallest detail of an oak leaf, to the countless stars in the sky, all of nature was created to show our Creator’s love for us and for us to enjoy! All of nature declares the Glory of God!
Bible Verses About Nature
Genesis 1:9-10: Then God said, “Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. God called the dry land earth, and the gathering of the waters He called seas, and God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:11-12: Then God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them”; and it was so. The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit with seed in them, after their kind; and God saw that it was good.
Isaiah 45:12: It is I who made the earth, and created man upon it. I stretched out the heavens with My hands and I ordained all their host.
Amos 5:8: He who made the Pleiades and Orion and changes deep darkness into morning, who also darkens day into night, who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out on the surface of the earth, the Lord is His name.
Psalm 150: Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. ... Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.

Bible Verses About Creation
Even though we are a part of God’s vast creation, the Word of God says that He made us to rule over it! What a wonderful responsibility to be given! Our earth is now full of things that the Lord never intended, but we have control of the outcome of creation.
Revelation 4:11: Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.
Isaiah 45:12: It is I who made the earth, and created man upon it. I stretched out the heavens with My hands and I ordained all their host.
Psalm 8:5-8: Yet You have made him a little lower than God, and You crown him with glory and majesty! You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea, whatever passes through the paths of the seas.
Colossians 1:17: He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
Psalm 104:14: He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth.
Bible Verses About Nature Revealing God
It is so amazing how Jesus used the world that He created to teach His followers about His kingdom. He taught using nature so that His followers would have a visual illustration of how He created things to be, and how we should interact with His creation. The Bible says that His creation declares His glory! What a powerful God we serve that could curse a fig tree, set fire to a bush without it burning, split the sea for His people, cause water to flow from a rock, and walk on water himself! We are an amazing part, the crowning glory, of His creation, and He made all of this for us.
Psalm 19:1: The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.
Luke 12:27: Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.
Matthew 6:28-34: And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
John 7:38: On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them."
Isaiah 40:8: The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.
Luke 6:48: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
Romans 1:20: For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
Psalm 8:3-4: When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?
Luke 8:24: And they went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased, and there was a calm.
