Christmas Devotion- Day 4

And Heaven and Nature Sing

In Romans 8:19-21 it says, “For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.” This scripture is amazing! It wasn’t just humans that fell in the garden of Eden. Because mankind was given dominion over this creation by God, we actually subjected all of God’s natural creation to the decay of sin through Adam’s fall. Since that time, even nature itself has been waiting for the full redemption of mankind. When the birth of Jesus was announced, it wasn’t just heaven and the angels that rejoiced with the anticipation of our Messiah’s redemptive work. Even nature, on some level that we don’t understand, was rejoicing!
