At the Feet of Jesus

We all have things that come up again and again—the little worries, a situation weighing heavily on our hearts, or something big that we need a miracle for.

Whatever yours may be, I wanted to create a free resource to help you bring it to the feet of Jesus and teach your heart to trust Him in that area.

This prayer journal is a place to focus on three or four things that are on your heart. Maybe you’re asking for patience and wisdom as a mother, provision for your household, healing, or a stronger marriage. Start with the things you find yourself thinking about, worrying over, or trying to figure out on your own.

God’s Word speaks into the circumstances we face. As His children, we can stand on what He has said. Isaiah 55:11 reminds us that His Word will accomplish what He sends it to do. Psalm 138:2 says He has magnified His Word above all His name. We have a firm foundation for our trust in Him.

Writing down a concern can help us unpack what feels heavy. Sometimes, as we write, we begin to recognize a fear or a need we hadn’t quite put into words. It gives us a place to be honest with the Lord and see more clearly what we need to trust Him with.

From there, open your Bible. Find a passage that speaks to that area, read it in context, and write it out. If you need help finding a place to start, an online resource like OpenBible’s topical Scripture guide can help you find verses related to what’s on your heart. Spend time considering what the passage reveals about God and how it speaks to your concern. Hebrews 4:12 reminds us that His Word is living and powerful, and Ephesians 6:17 calls it the sword of the Spirit. When that familiar worry rises again, return to what He has said. Let His truth shape your thoughts and your prayers.

Then, begin writing your prayer. There are times when I don’t know what to say or how to pray, but as I start writing, the words begin to flow. You don’t need polished sentences. You can bring your questions, your needs, and your hope to Him just as they are.

Take time to be still and listen before you write, and pause along the way. Our good Shepherd knows us, and we, His sheep, hear His voice (John 10:27). Give yourself room to linger in His Word and respond to what He brings to your heart.

My hope is that these pages become a place you return to—a place to lay down what you’ve been carrying, pray with intention, and grow in trust as you bring it to Jesus.
