When This Verse Became Real

Some truths do not become fully real to us until we see them unfold in our own lives. That is what happened with this Scripture for me.

I knew this verse, but there was a particular area of my life where I had to make the choice to seek God first. As I did, I began to see that many of the things I wanted were not found through striving. They were already connected to the path God had for me. I realized that He truly goes before us. It is better to seek Him than to exhaust ourselves trying to create the life we think we want. His plans are often better than anything we could have arranged for ourselves.

Why I Chose This Artwork

I loved this vintage artwork from the moment I saw it. The peaceful forest setting carries a sense of wonder. It makes you want to explore its depth and follow the faint path weaving through the trees.

The more I looked at it, the more Matthew 6:33 came to mind. It felt similar to seeking the Lord. There is peace in His presence and wonder in knowing the work He has done within us, making us new creations. And sometimes, the direction He leads us is not the path everyone else is taking. It may be the quieter path, the less familiar one, and the one where we recognize how much we need His help.

But it often leads somewhere better than we could have planned for ourselves.

Blending the Scripture Into the Art

As always, I chose a font that would not take away from the beauty of the vintage artwork. I wanted the words to blend naturally into the scene, almost as though they had always been there.

My Hope for This Piece

I think that's why I love this piece so much. Every time I see it, it reminds me that following Jesus isn't about having every step mapped out. It's about trusting the One who does.

When He becomes our first pursuit, everything else finds its proper place. That doesn't mean life is always easy, but it does mean we can trust that our Father knows what we need and that His plans are always good.

My hope is that this piece serves as a quiet reminder every time you walk past it to seek Him first. To choose His presence over striving, His wisdom over your own understanding, and His path over the one that seems easiest.

As we do, we often discover that He Himself is the greatest reward.
